Installing Software on a Mac Using Self Service


The Self Service portal is installed on all Mac computers that are managed by KIS. This portal allows KIS to "send" applications to your computer so that you can download them at your convenience without the need for administrative rights. All of the software available in the Self Service portal is secure and approved for use at Kellogg/NU.

Installing Software Using Self Service

  1. Launch the Self Service Application with one of these methods:
    1. Click the Spotlight icon in the top right corner of the screen and begin to type "Self Service"
    2. Open your Applications folder and double-click Self Service

  2. In the Self Service window, you will see a list of approved software. Click the Install (or reinstall) button next to the software(For example Office 2019) you would like to install on your computer.
  3. Once you've started an install, you will see a progress bar at the top of the Self Service window showing your installation progress.
  4. After the application has been installed, you can go back to your Applications folder to verify the new program has installed successfully.
