Installation - macOS
Installation of Apple’s bootcamp or Parallel/VMWare Fusion
If you would like to install a Windows Operating System on your Mac and then install a Windows-compatible version of Microsoft Office (2010,2013,2016 or an Office365 subscription) within the Windows OS environment, then FactSet could also be installed within the Windows environment for full access to all the FactSet software's features.
- A Virtual Machine can be used to simulate a PC environment within the Mac operating system so that you can install Windows within the environment. With this method, the Windows OS runs within the Mac OS, so you do not have to reboot the device to switch between the Mac and Windows operating systems. Two virtual machine applications for the Mac are Parallels (http://www.parallels.com/), and VMWare Fusion (http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion.html).
- Remember, the FactSet add-ins are not compatible with any version of Microsoft Office for Mac. To utilize the FactSet Office add-ins, Microsoft Office for Windows must be installed within the Windows operating systems described above.
